  • Cromaine District Library

    Cromaine District Library serves residents of and visitors to Hartland, Brighton, Deerfield, Genoa, Oceola, and Tyrone Townships. Known for its friendly, high-quality service, Cromaine has received state and national awards for its innovative programs and services.

    Currently there are two branches: the historic Cromaine in the Village branch, founded in 1927, is located at 3688 Avon Street, Hartland, MI 48353; the newer Crossroads branch, opened in 2005, is located at 1788 Old U.S. 23, Howell, MI 48843.

    Cromaine Library’s inviting facilities offers a collection of over 100,000 items, wireless Internet access, public computers, and a public meeting room, not to mention, a wonderful staff who is available to recommend a good read, answer questions, help you use the Internet and new electronic information sources. Books on CD, e-books, plus Kindles, Nooks, DVD movies, videos, large print books, magazines, newspapers, and computer software are all part of the circulating collection.

    A variety of databases are also available through the library’s web site. The library also participates in an interlibrary loan system that provides library users access to materials in libraries throughout southeastern Michigan. Additionally, Cromaine District Library prides itself on offering quality programs for people of all ages and interests.
