The Girls’ Golf Program at Hartland High School began in the spring of 1999 by two golf coaches (and teachers) eager to create a program that would support and reflect the talent and dedication of aspiring golfers in their school and community. During the first couple of years, 9-12 players found themselves attracted to the sport program. In the spring of 2001, with the Varsity Coach retiring from his teaching and coaching positions, the Junior Varsity Coach, Mike Joseph, was promoted to the Varsity Coach position.
Each year the teams have grown in numbers (25+), ability and successes. Over the past 15 years, the Girls’ Golf Program has won multiple league titles, placed in the top 5 at most of their tournaments, and qualified to play in the State Finals for the past 2 years. The young golfers on this year’s team are very talented and looking forward to another year of awards, titles and another chance at the State Finals!
Hosting tournaments at our home course, Hartland Glen Golf Course, is one way for us to provide our golfers additional competitive matches, and for us to earn needed money to help fund and support our program. And, this year we are again fortunate to host the MHSAA Regional Tournament on our home course!
Our Varsity and Junior Varsity Tournaments are each filled with over 20 6-player teams this year. The Varsity Tournament will be held on Monday, August 20th, followed by the Junior Varsity Tournament on Friday, August 24th.
For the first time, we are seeking sponsors for our tournaments. If you are interested in sponsoring a hole, please contact the head of our fundraising committee.
Checks can be made out and sent to: Hartland Girls Golf, Hartland High School 10635 Dunham Rd. Hartland MI 48353
Thank you in advance for your support and patronage.
