LACASA’s Garden Tour Fundraiser Set for July.
Livingston County will be full of blooms and blossoms during the 21st Annual Garden Tour Weekend set for Saturday and Sunday, July 13-14, 2019.
This year’s charity event features nine one-of-a-kind gardens and three specialty stops, giving attendees a wide variety of traditional and eclectic gardening experiences. Guests are invited to roam the grounds at each garden and chat with homeowners about gardening tips.
“People continue to enjoy the scenery and atmosphere at the differing gardens,” said Hazel Bostic, Chairwoman of LACASA’s Garden Tour Committee. “Each year we try to select a variety of garden styles and options for guests to get ideas from and admire. This year I think we have a great assortment.”
Unique to the 2019 tour is the Living Wall at Lake Trust Credit Union headquarters. Learn how this challenging feat can be accomplished and enjoy the serene landscaping at this hidden gem in Brighton, MI.
LACASA Collection and Specialty Growers are the two other non-traditional garden tour stops which will offer guests special discounts. LACASA Collection will also be providing light refreshments on the terrace and an opportunity to purchase 2019 Garden Tour merchandise.
Additional offerings along the tour include the Blooming Raffle, Summertime Quilt Raffle, and the “Stargazer Scavenger Hunt”. Tickets for each raffle can be purchased in advance at LACASA Collection or at a specified garden the day of the event.
The scavenger hunt offers sleuthing guests some fun along the way while they search for garden clues. Winners are entered into a drawing for a chance to win a birdhouse handcrafted by Linda Bader of Bader Acres in Howell.
Garden Tour Weekend tickets are $20 in advance at area business outlets or online, and $25 at garden entrances. Tour hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. All proceeds benefit abused children and victims of interpersonal violence from the community.

Garden Tour Weekend is a fundraising event that includes a year of advance planning and organization. The Garden Tour Committee begins selecting gardens in August for the following year’s tour. More than 120 volunteers help coordinate the tour and staff each garden throughout the weekend.
LACASA Center is an independent nonprofit and is not affiliated with a national parent agency. The organization depends on individual donations from the community to provide help and hope for victims of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault. All contributions stay local.
